4-Stage Lawn Care Program
ProSeries
THREE PRIMARY NUTRIENTS ARE REPRESENTED
BY A SERIES OF
NUMBERS ON EACH BAG OF LAWN FOOD,
SUCH AS 20-5-10
N = Nitrogen.
Nitrogen is necessary in large quantities. It is associated with vigorous vegetative growth and a deep green color.
P = Phosphorus.
Phosphorus promotes root growth and formation. It is used in all parts of plant development. Phosphorus application is not needed
in most areas of the upper midwest since higher levels are generally found there.
K = Potassium.
Potassium is used by plants for overall health, disease resistance and winter-hardiness.

Stage
1 - Crabgrass with Dimension
LS611
Apply LawnScience® Crabgrass Preventer 13-4-6 early to mid-Spring, before soil temperature reaches 60 degrees F or before early germinating crabgrass reaches the 2 leaf stage. It is a unique combination of lawn food and a pre-emergent and early post-emergent for control of crabgrass, providing up to 3-4 months control of crabgrass and other annual broadleafs and grasses. It supplies the vital nutrients a healthy lawn needs. The benefit of this product is the 3+ months control of later germinating crabgrass.
Stage
2 - Weed & Feed
LS620
Apply LawnScience® Weed & Feed 20-5-10 in late spring. The TRIMEC in Weed & Feed provides post-emergent control of dandelions as well as 24 other weeds. It also supplies the key nutrients for a healthy, lush lawn.
Stage
3 - Premium Lawn Food
LS630
Apply LawnScience® Premium Lawn Food 32-3-10 in the summer. This high-quality lawn food provides generous amounts of nitrogen and potassium as well as sulfur and iron needed for a vigorous, healthy lawn. Nitrogen is supplied in two ways: an immediate release for fast greenup and a slow-release nitrogen for extended feeding and long-lasting vitality. LawnScience® Lawn Food also provides phosphorus to promote root growth and formulation.
Stage
4 - Winterizer LS640
Apply LawnScience® Winterizer 24-4-16 in the fall. Fall fertilization is one of the most critical times of the year for lawns which are about to become dormant for the winter period. They need a good nutrient supply to fight off diseases as well as to build up root reserves to survive the winter. The added advantage is that fall fertilization helps get lawns off to a quicker start in the spring.
New
Seeding: Starter
Apply LawnScience™ 18-24-10 when beginning a new lawn. It contains
the important nutrients required to get the growth off to a fast start.
Horse Pasture Fertilizer
Apply LawnScience® Horse Pasture Fertilizer 16-6-16 up to 4 times per year. This fertilizer is not harmful to horses. Pasture only after ample rainfall has occurred to release fertilizer. Water in for increased effectiveness. Apply on a calm day. Mow tall grass a day or two before application. |
